Outpatient Psychiatric Treatment for Children and Adolescents

Outpatient treatment is a less restrictive level of care. It allows children or adolescents to receive treatment for mental health issues while allowing them to maintain their commitments to family and school. Those in recovery who have completed an inpatient program often continue treatment on an outpatient basis.

Who this program treats

The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatric Program is designed for children and adolescents ages 5 -21 (if still in school) that may have completed an inpatient program but would like to continue treatment through outpatient services.

Services this program offers

Our outpatient program provides a broad range of consultation, evaluation and treatment interventions for emotional, psychological or cognitive problems. Children and adolescents receive mental health treatment in a structured outpatient setting. Treatment can range from one to three hours per week. Each child or adolescent is provided with an initial assessment and an individualized treatment plan.
Therapies offered include:

  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Medication management
  • Anger management
  • Social skills training
  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
